After the tremendous success of PROMETHEAN-08, expectations were high for the second edition of PROMETHEAN. With GOLIVE GAMING as our sponsor for the gaming event,things were much hyped and the gaming event was considered to be the center of attraction. Our college BVRIT is actually located 50 kms from the main city of Hyderabad.So not much was expected in gaming event but the organizers did a handsome job to bring in a good amount of players into the arena.

DAY-1 started off with the events inaugural function and soon after people came in to check out the games that were being played.Though of course there wasn't much of turnout but then the clans in counter strike had cool and close matches which were very exciting to watch.

Rules were

 CS-5 members clan-20 rounds [each team 10 as t and 10 as ct] winner of 11 rounds wins the match

NFS & FIFA    1 vs 1 matches and the winner goes on to the next round.

For NFS,  it was NFS-mostwanted and FIFA-08.

The pcs were better than the other colleges at least with 17' dell monitors and decent core2duo pcs with 512 mb RAm [all original dell].The fps of games were pretty fair and people rather enjoyed playing the games. For nfs there was a pretty decent crown with more than 40 people turning up and for fifa there were nearly 30 of them.There were 8 counterstrike clans which  is a pretty sad figure but then there were still 2 more days to go and there were lot many events left for the rest two days.

Day-2 began with a bang and the crowd started flowing in and the two labs where the gaming event was held ,filled with new vibrancy and the crowd was enjoying the way the gamers battled it out to win their matches.The clan matches went on more exciting and the adrenaline was rushing in.For all the games the registrations were done and now the matches became intense as the rounds went by.Finally after the round 4 of all games we took a break to resume on the final day.

Final day saw lot of excitement as some of the semi-pro players battled against themselves to clinch the top spot. Fifa saw PRANEETH beating BHARATH and JOHN in a round robin finals where as in NFS at the last moment the LAN failed to connect. We had 6 players left and it was decided mutually that everyone will play the same track [5 laps] and the one who finishes with least time takes away the top spot.

 Last year winner Arun did a splendid job by clearing the 5 laps in one of the best time beating other 4 of them by more than 10 secs.So now I had to make a better show.So I switched to manual shifts and finally I could clock better than him to clinch the top spot in NFS.

 In C.S, the "noobz" team proved too much for rest of the clans and the final match was between the "noobz" clan and another college clan.The match was 30 rounds and with the scores getting tied in each round excitement grew until there was change in teams.Till half time the scores were almost even but after the "noobz" clan switched as terrorists....they swept over the other clan and won the match comfortably.

The prizes were handsome and everyone walked away after a successful gaming event in a distant college like BVRIT .....
